Like all Scion cars, the xD has hip urban styling, plus many dealer installed options to customize its look. Along with a spoiler, the dealer can install special interior lighting systems and performance upgrades. Additionally, each xD buyer can choose between three choices of wheel cover designs.
A 1.8-liter four cylinder engine making 128 hp provides power for the xD. A five-speed manual transmission is standard with a four-speed automatic available as an option. At 27 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, the xD gets good mileage for economic driving.
Although the base price is under $15,000, the xD comes nicely equipped with many features not usually found standard on economy cars. The base xD comes with a nice Pioneer sound system with six-speakers and an iPod dock. Also standard are air conditioning, keyless entry, power locks and windows. For safety, this Scion has antilock brakes and driver and passenger airbags.
